I submitted an insurance claim and received the check for repairs. What now?

Please mail or bring the check to Habitat to be deposited into your escrow account.

Once processed, hire a licensed contractor and provide a quote with the plans to Habitat for the work that needs to be done. Habitat will review the plans and notify you of next steps. If the licensed contractor needs funds to buy supplies, Habitat will disburse funds to the contractor.

When the work is completed, a representative of our office will call to make an appointment for inspection. If the repair is satisfactory, Habitat will disburse a check to the Licensed Contractor for the remaining the balance. If any funds are left, Habitat will disburse a check to the homeowner.
